Local Outreach Coordinator (Volunteer)

Job Location: Merida Mexico

Estimated Time Commitment: 5 hours per week
This range allows for:

  • 1–2 hours of meetings or outreach calls (with schools, local businesses, government offices, etc.)

  • 2–3 hours of planning, research, writing outreach emails, or attending community events

  • 0–1 flexible hours for follow-ups, coordinating event logistics, or attending occasional in-person meetups

Description:
We are seeking a passionate and community-driven individual to serve as our Local Outreach Coordinator. This volunteer role is key to building relationships with local organizations, schools, government officials, and community groups in Mérida, Mexico. The goal is to foster collaboration, secure sponsorships, and create opportunities for cultural exchange.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, government entities, and community groups.

  • Coordinate and promote events that highlight Black culture, music, fashion, and community experiences.

  • Serve as a liaison between our organization and local partners.

  • Help secure access to larger facilities and resources for community events.

  • Advocate for our mission and connect with potential sponsors and supporters.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

  • Familiarity with the local community in Mérida, Mexico.

  • Passion for cultural exchange and community building.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

  • Ability to commit a few hours per week on a flexible schedule.
